Understanding Physician Families
We understand and support the Physician Family from Training Years through Retirement. Today’s Physician Families are faced with unique challenges. We recognize and understand professional and personal needs, the issues of medical families. Alliance members share common interests and experiences. Our members develop long lasting friendships.
Our network of members includes the Massachusetts Medical Society Alliance (MMSA) and the AMA Alliance (AMAA) and at the district level, the WDMSA. Our members are Physicians’ Spouses/Partners, Physicians, Physicians’-in-Training Spouses/Partners and Physicians-in-Training.
Join Us As We Make a Difference in Our Communities
Since 1948, the Worcester District Medical Society Alliance (WDMSA) has been committed to building a healthier community by working closely with our local medical society, the Worcester District Medical Society (WDMS). The WDMS/WDMSA collaborated in 1963 to provide the Sabin polio vaccine to citizens of all ages in Worcester County. More recently, we joined efforts with the medical society and the Department of Public Health for Community Immunity targeting influenza and testing the emergency medical response. Presently, we have supported our local heroes in the medical community by providing meals and snacks during Covid-19.
Since 1959, the WDMSA Nursing Scholarship Program has awarded over 160 scholarships. We hope to award a scholarship in Fall 2021.
The WDMSA was the recipient of the Thomas Jefferson Award in recognition of outstanding volunteerism and public service at the Belmont Street School in Worcester for our healthy eating initiative.
