Dr. Rick Sacra grew up in the Boston Area. He attended Brown University for undergrad and UMass for Medical School before doing residency in Family Medicine in Bristol, TN. Rick was always interested in Medical Missions. Dr. Sacra served in Liberia from 1995 to 2021 at the ELWA Hospital with a Christian mission group, SIM. When he’s in the US, he has made the Family Health Center of Worcester his professional home. Rick served as the Family Medicine residency director at Liberia’s first Family Medicine Residency Training Program at ELWA Hospital from its opening in July of 2017 to August 2020. Dr. Sacra is currently based in Central Massachusetts, while continuing periodic mission trips, assisting in the opening of a rural clinic in Liberia.
